Adria celebrates 60 years of passionate embrace of new designs, technologies and ideas. And Lians, of course, shares the excitement and congratulations on the anniversary!

For 60 years, Adria has been creating high-quality recreational vehicles that combine innovative design with outstanding craftsmanship. With an unwavering focus on new technology and thoughtful design, Adria bridges the gap between the past and the future — delivering outstanding performance and comfort. It's so much fun to have a look at Adria's exciting journey!
Adria's success from the start was no doubt due to a clever selling point: “a lightweight and well-equipped caravan at an affordable price”, combined with an innovative driving force within the organisation — a spirit that has characterised the brand's entire history. There are many milestones in Adria's history — key people, important events and especially innovative products — all of which have helped shape the brand.

It started with visionary persons and an idea, followed by a 1:20 scale drawing showing the shape of the very first Adria caravan, the Adria 375.
It took two months to produce the first prototype at IMV (Motor Vehicle Industry), the forerunner of Adria Mobil, under the leadership of Martin Sever and Jurij Levičnik. The first model was built for a well-known buyer in Sweden, Karl Willhelm Karlsson.
Martin Sever, who designed the caravan, drove himself over 2,000 kilometres to deliver the Adria 375 to the fair in Stockholm. “Even the longest journey begins with a single step,” as he put it.
Many improvements were developed to satisfy Swedish customers: better insulation, a safer chassis and reduced weight — still part of Adria's DNA. This is how the groundbreaking story of Adria's success in the market began, to what we know it as today.
The Adria story had begun in earnest.
Many important milestones followed the original Adria 375 hanger and have helped shape both the brand and the lives of many customers.

The early Adria carriages were white and made of lacquered aluminium, but in 1970 they received a blue decor stripe at window height. This became a hallmark of the Adria brand — a symbol of the Adriatic Sea and the blue sky.

A record number of Adria RVs were sold as production reached its highest level in the company's history, with 26,575 units. This reflected the growing interest in the camping lifestyle and in the Adria brand, which was at the forefront with new interior design and a “central service module” for all electrical devices.

The idea of developing “self-driving caravans” arose in the late 1960s, with the registration of the name “Adriatik”. The very first motorhome prototypes, the Adriatik 420 and 450, were developed in 1982 on Renault chassis. These paved the way for Adria's successful motorhome program, which continues to this day.

Adria's 30th anniversary marked the introduction of the fifth generation of caravans, the Unica — a crossroads in Adria's design history. At the same time, the first steps were taken into the growing market of city motorhomes. The following year Danilo Plesničar handed over the role of CEO to Sonja Gole, who led the company through many challenges and on to ever greater success, right up to 2024.

After an impressive period of new growth in the 90s, which laid the foundation for the current Adria brand, a new state-of-the-art factory opened in Novo mesto, with the latest world-class production technologies. Adria's 40th anniversary was marked with the launch of the new Action caravan and the first integrated camper, Vision.

Despite financial crises, Adria completed its investment cycle with new motorhome models—the Matrix and Coral Supreme crossover model were added to the newly launched Polaris at Mercedes-Benz. In addition, came the budget-friendly caravan Aviva for families, and the new all-season caravan Alpina, which became very popular in Scandinavia.

By the mid-2000s, Adria was well established as a design-driven and innovative brand, with a portfolio of market-leading models: Alpina, Adora and Altea caravans; Sonic, Coral and Matrix campers; and Twin city campers. Adria celebrated its 50th anniversary with the aptly named Silver Collection -- special editions of Matrix, Twin, Adora and Altea.

Adria was one of the first brands to bet on urban campers in the 1990s. In 2005, the name Twin was introduced, and the model quickly became one of the most recognized and best-selling. In 2019, Adria launched the new generation Twin Supreme, which introduced cutting-edge design and won the European Innovation Award. The model also set the standard for new trends, such as the lifting roof — exemplified by the Twin Sports, launched two years later.

Fast forward to today — Adria Mobil has been part of the Trigano Group since 2017 and is now marking the Adria brand's 60th anniversary with Adria 60 Years Selection. Celebrations include an all-new Action caravan, 20 years after the original; a new Adora with upgraded style and comfort; a new Astella -- and the first Adria city camper built at Mercedes-Benz with all-wheel drive: the new Supertwin.
